The Job

Thank you Shashank for tagging me in your post, The Presentation, written at EmbarkWithMyThoughts. I've accepted your tag and here goes the post.

There was a red door at the entrance and I did not dare to enter. I decided to wait on the pavement beside the entrance to see if I can ask any worker from restaurant.

Source: Google Images

I've waited there for an hour or two, everyday, for like a week or more and finally there came a waiter to throw the trash and I walked towards him. "Are you looking for any help in this hotel?" I asked to the waiter who came out to throw the garbage. He did not even care if I was talking to him and started the empty the trash can. "Sir, I'm looking for a job and I just wanted to check if you guys are looking for any help in this hotel", I asked again.

"Do you think you can keep cooking for eight hours a day?” he asked. My over enthusiastic heart and the hungry stomach found a ray of hope at his question. "Yes! Yes! I can wait for eight hours a day and I can wait too", I said.

"Let me check with my boss and let you know if is willing to hire any stranger for a job in his hotel", he said and walked towards the hotel. He came out and said, "Come in. My boss wants to see you". He glanced me and said, "I'll be paying only 50 bucks an hour". As I did not get to see 50 bucks in past three months, I felt like jumping with joy and singing, but I said, "It is a little less but, I'll take it".

"Can I start cooking now?" I asked. "No! Not from today. Get rid of that beard first. You should have a clean shave as long as you work here", the boss said.

"I can shave and come back in ten minutes", I said. "Listen, it is already late and we have people coming for lunch. Come down tomorrow and start cooking and don't forget, 'clean shave'.", he said.

"Oh man! I lost the salary for today and that too just because I did not shave!" I said to myself.

Thank you Cifar for tagging me in your post, Wrong Queue at The Other Side. I've accepted your tag and here goes the post.

As soon as I entered he class, I heard, "Sit down everyone. No one wanders in the corridor today. We have the first company visiting our college this semester and the Head of our Department would be upset if you guys are creating any scene out there".

I went there and took the only available seat in the second bench of the class.

"Which company is it?", I asked Angad. "I don't know man! I was at the coaching yesterday and why would I be bothered about the companies coming this year? We will anyways be having our shots next year, won't we?", said Angad. "Yeah you are right big man!", I replied. "Keep calm you idiots!", said Mr. Deshpande, our lecturer for Programming in C.

According to me, Angad is proper, planned genius of our class with all the abilities to crack technical, managerial and HR rounds of these companies. I should say, I was lucky to have him during exams. I know what you are thinking now. Don't worry, it is not because I can copy from him, it is because, he used to explain me the chapters that I bunked for my cricket tournaments.

"Look at him, he has already started taking coaching for the expected interviews next year. He always sits in the second bench so that he will not have distractions during the lectures. He always comes in clean and neat formals to collage as if he is going to interviews everyday in college. Look at him! This is the guy!", I said to myself.

"Wait! What's this! Angad, why dint you shave? You look so tired and untidy with this beard", I said. "Dude, I was busy with coding last night and I had to rush to college this morning because I woke up late. Do you think this beard is really that bad. I thought it looks cool and macho ;)", he said. "Yo bro! You are still the genius of our class", I said.

Mr. Deshpande gestured Angad to come out of the class. Angad went as if it was a national emergency but when he returned he looked a little upset. "Ssup bro! What's wrong?", I asked. "Our Head of the Department wants one of our juniors to address the recruiters today and Mr. Deshpande suggested my name", said Angad. "That awesome! But why are upset?", I asked again. "Head of the Department asked someone else to do it because I did not shave my beard", said Angad. "That's sad bro! Don't worry, you have a lot of chances coming up. You'll rock the stage then!", I said.

The chance you missed is the choice you've made

Thank you Shashank for tagging me in your post at embarkwithmythoughts.

I woke up in my bed after a the long night, hung over. The smell of rum which I had all night with her was all over my bed. The hangover was killing me even after a seven hour sleep and I just wished it go off after I have my tea, as usual.

I had to be there in the next half an hour and I had to hurry because it takes approximately twenty minutes to travel. I could have still shaved my beard and gone but, no! I was worried that I would be late if I do so.

I came back from the bathroom attached to my room and I could see her still sleeping with the sheets on. She looked even more beautiful while she was asleep.

"Get back to your work you idiot or you will have to keep watching in this bedroom for few more days until you have your next interview" I said to my self. I went back to combing my hair and my beard. The perfume I was wearing was pleasant enough to impress any girl around me.

I kissed her on her cheeks and started my journey for the day, to give my best and to grab my job. The sunny day and it's sun light wished me a good luck as I rode my bike.

I reached the place and I was on time. It took exactly twenty minutes for me to travel, as expected. The moment I went in, I was received as if they are waiting me, they were expecting me. I went in and sat on the the only chair opposite to the other three. All their questions were addressed correctly. As a matter of fact I felt as if it was one of the best interview I've faced.

Source: Google Images

But, things don't end when you think they would.

"I'm sorry Mr. Jude.! You did not qualify the last round", said the man in the third chair in front of me. "Did I miss anything?" I asked. "It's your beard sir! You are not shaved and you were expected to be in clean shave." they said.

I just left the room and came out thinking that I would not be able to get another interview with this company for another six months. Oh man!! It was the best company in my locality and I have to travel few miles for another one like this.

"Honey! Honey! Wake up!!", I heard a voice and it was her shaking me from my dream. Thank God it was a dream. The first thing I did was to shave and then go to take a shower. Yes! I had a job waiting for me and I was making sure that I shouldn't be creating an impression that would make me disqualified or unfit for.

Me, My Love and My Home :)

No comments :
The place which makes me feel relaxed, the place where my love is waiting for my arrival every evening, the place is nothing but my home. Yes, after the long lasting tiredness starting with my physical workout at gym and my mental workout at office, the only place I can think of going is my home. The way I decorate my house defines my taste for art and the way I handle it defines my care.

I can recollect my childhood days when I started using my crayons and I did as if I were a professional ;) Six out of ten sketches were titled "Home Sweet Home". Those were just words written on piece of paper which gave me the desire to build one today.

Source: Google Images

1. Karigaari Jali Ashtavinayak Ganesha Wall Hanging
2. Deknudt Mirror
3. Swayam Boutique Collection 11 pcs Bedroom Set

Given a chance to make some changes or add something to my home, I'd like to go with the following:

As soon as someone enters my home and looks at the Ashtavinayaka Wall Hanging, I'd like them to feel blessed for health and wealth they have today. Personally, I feel happy for whatever I have today in my life(along with the opportunity from BlogAdda to write this post).

I always spend a pretty good amount for my clothing and I really appreciate and feel happy when I see my love and I making ourselves up in front of the gorgeous Deknudt Mirror in my house. I feel like taking time for myself and my love to stand in front of the mirror and appreciate the beauty of our togetherness and that blush on her face when I praise her would make my day even more happier :).

After all the time I spend running, walking, sitting, standing throughout the day, I feel like having a proper sleep to get myself recharged to unfold the blessings of the next day in my life is my bed and it is the only place where my love rests her head on my heart and feels protective by listening to my heartbeat. Yes, I'd go for a Swayam Boutique Collection to make my bed, a comfy place to sleep.

Adding to all these things, my Mom would make my home complete and I can now proudly call it "Home Sweet Home".

I can find all these items from MakeMyHome.com and that too at a very dearer price.

WhatTheBlack -- Day #4

No comments :
#WhatTheBlack

I woke with the thought of receiving the Black Brush today but no Man In Black has arrived so far so I had to manage with the usual one.

Now the idea of getting all the items delivered at once is getting evaporated second by second.

Black Egg in the magical Black Box, Black Newspaper, Black cup and a tissue and finally a Black Brush.

The way in which things were delivered is quite appreciable. The efforts BlogAdda and Team had put into this is on a very higher level.

Though I've not received any Black item after the Black Egg in the Magical Box, I'm still having a small hope somewhere in the corner of my heart which says that the packages might get delivered or at least the final big product will be delivered.

I wish BlogAdda to come up with more such ideas in future, but with a better 3rd party to deliver the products :)

WhatTheBlack -- Day #3

No comments :
Looks like all the items are going to be delivered at once..!!

Also, looking at the products delivered so for to the other participants, the final surprise is definitely going to be something related to breakfast or something related to morning.

Still waiting to receive the surprise items.. :|

WhatTheBlack -- Day 2

#WhatTheBlack

I flew early to my office so that I can finish my work soon and get to my blog.

As the Blogadda person who came to present me with the magical Black Box knows my address, I thought he might come early and give a kick start to my second surprise. I was still guessing WhatTheBlack is going to happen today but it was a hard nut to crack, compared to the egg I broke yesterday :P

Is it going to be a Black Nut?  A magical Black Wand or is it going to be another magical Black Box?

My fingers are still crossed to experience the unexpected from WhatTheBlack.

Trip To Jaipur

No comments :
I came home as usual and sat on the sofa in the hall. A tiresome day it was. "Amma..!! Can I get some coffee?" I said and leaned back. “What’s up with you? Why are looking so dull? Is everything okay?” Amma started her rapid fire. “Nothing, it’s just my work load. We’ve been working so hard to get out project to the next level. You know how things work in the corporate world” I said. “Ram, why don’t you take a break? Go out somewhere for few days” she said. Sounded like a nice idea to me. I really need a break!

“Amma, let’s plan a trip to Jaipur next week. Such a scenic beauty it is” I said. “No baba no. I can’t come with you. This is the reason I’ve asked you to get married. You can go out with your wife travel around the globe” she guffawed. “Amma, I’ll get married when I have to. Let’s plan the trip first” I said. “Do you want me to call Mr. Matthew? He is a very good travel agent and moreover he is from Jaipur. He can help you with all the travel and stay” she asked. “Nope, but I’ll let you know if I need any help” I replied after gulping a sip from the coffee.

There was no need for me to go for Mr. Matthew when I already have Skyscanner – the travel wizard with me. I really have to thank Skyscanner and team, these guys are really awesome. The last time while I was planning a trip to Goa with Shikha, the complete plan was about to tailspin and the travel wizard, Skyscanner saved my relationship (Top secret, Amma doesn’t know about her yet :P).

Soon I went to skyscanner.co.in and searched for flights to Jaipur, a wonderful place in Rajasthan. No sooner I hit the search button a list of flights came into sight on the screen with appealing prices. I’ve sorted everything as per my comfort and chose to fly with Air India by just paying rupees 16,582/-, which is a dearer price compared to other sites (you can see the highlighted prices below).

Then I navigated to the Hotel bookings and it wasn’t a herculean task. I just sorted according to my comforts and just booked it. Sorting is one of the best features I like these days and skyscanner has it.

My stay went like this:

Day 1: Jaipur (1 night)
Day 2: Jodhpur (1 night )
Day 3: Udaipur ( 2 nights)
Day 4: Udaipur
Day 5: -Pushkar ( 1 night)
Day 6: Pushkar ( 1 night)
Day 7: Jaipur

I booked all the hotels at the respective places and also the cabs to travel in the local and started my packing. Everything was booked with costing me just 67000/- rupees only.

After exploring all the places mentioned above I came back to Jaipur and took rest for the complete day. The forts, the palace and especially the shopping was very  delightful. Later I took a flight to Pune and reached home without any trouble

Thanks to Skyscanner for all the help.

WhatTheBlack -- Day #1

2 comments :
The most awaited day has finally come. I was checking my mobile again and again just to make sure that I did not miss any call from Blogadda.com regarding #WhatTheBlack activity. I was very exhilarated to see what's gonna come and more ecstatically waiting to blog about it.

I was waiting, waiting and waiting and finally the cute, female receptionist in my office came to me and said "Sankeerth, there is someone waiting to meet you in the reception." I went running to the reception and a person from Blogadda.com greeted and presented the Black Box of surprise and happiness. I signed for it and went on to my desk. I was very agog to know what's inside the Black Box

I opened the box and the surprise got unfolded with every step I took to open the box and I finally experienced the unexpected as said by #WhatTheBlack .

I was actually expecting chocolates by looking at the Black Box but to my surprise I found a Black Egg and then I said #WhatTheBlack :) It came with a beautiful, egg shaped note.

Now what's inside the egg? It again surprised me. As I already said, a lot of surprises got unfolded with every step.

Ohhhh Myyyyy..!!! That was one big chocolate in the egg. I couldn't wait any longer and I took a bite and said to my colleague sitting beside me, "Who said you cannot taste true love? I just did." Yummy Yummy Yummy chocolate it was. I wanted to capture every moment of this #WhatTheBlack experience and I did. I took a picture of my first bite on the chocolate:P

After I had the complete chocolate I realized, even my hands and fingers were black. Lol...!!! Fortunately I saved my white desk from going black which would result in the person cleaning it tomorrow to stare at my as if I was she going to eat me.

What would the next clue be? What am I going to get? Where is the chocolate in the Black Egg going to lead me? A lots of question in my mind as of now. Let's keep guessing guys. Any guess?

Keep watching this space for the next clue and keep guessing. You can very well comment if you have any guess.

Waiting for the final #WhatTheBlack product!!

My 5 Black Listed Things

No comments :
Black. Yes!! You read it right. It's Black. The color of this text is Black. The color of my laptop is Black. The color of my bag, the color of my shoes, the color of my T-shirts and what not. Knowingly or unknowingly Black has become one of the common colors in my life. Wait.. I said a common color. Let me correct it. Black is not a common color. Every color has it's own speciality, so as Black. Black is one of the mostly used and liked colors. It shows us the capability to absorb things into us.

Features apart. Beginning with my Black List:

1. Matte finished Lamborghini

A Mate finished Black Lamborghini. One of the most expensive cars in this world. I know I cannot ride a car yet, but even getting a ride in this car would make me more than happy.

2. A Black Sofa Set

A Black Sofa Set on a white polished floor. Oh my!! That would be a beauty to see. I have a theme house in my mind. All the things in the house would be just white and black. Specifically furniture will take black. White walls, white floor, Black sofa set, Black curtains, Black doors, Black dining table and so on. Let's see how far it goes.

3. Batman's Bike in Black

A little more improvement in the world of automobiles and bang!! This bike will be on roads. This is one of the coolest bikes I've ever seen. I'm still not sure if this is a realistic model, but if it is, then I'll be waiting for it to come on roads. Given, the fire power's been removed :P

4. A Black Pen

A book and a pen are always good to keep with one. I personally like to write in black. The strokes and the fonts in black add beauty to our writings. I've participated in a lot of competitions and given a choice, I've always gone for Black color to write.

5. My Lady in Black

Ooohh Myyy!! That moment when I see her in such a beautiful black dress would make me go buy the cloud 9 for myself and sit on it with my jaws dropped and my eyes wide open for an aeroplane to land in there. Phew!! I just come back from there ;)
